miscellaneous

guess where addie & cousin ellie could be found at any given moment last week?
note to self: pantries, tupperware, and plasticware are glorious inventions for toddlers.
tangent: addie's cute. spunky. "full of personality," as paul and i like to say.
we love this little rascal, every stinking thing about her.
below: paul "conquered" our out-of-control apricot tree with a saw and some pruners last weekend. never mind the fact that it was pretty much dead to begin with.
he was pretty cocky about it. i wanted to capture the glory.

below: miss layla lue turned 4 on saturday. (editor's note: what? already? how did that happen? honestly.) she has been pretty much living on her new bike ever since. we were babysitting a bunch of kids that night anyway, so we turned it into a birthday-bash of sorts, where we all sang and ate cupcakes.
layla tries to be a good sister, she's smart, she's determined, and she's sassy. she can be very sweet and cuddly, too, which just about melts my heart.
happy birthday, princess. we love you lots.

It was so cute on Sunday when you knew it was Addie crying and were at the door before the nursery person even opened the door to our Sunday school class. Good mother, you are.

This made me smile. My boys try, too.

THe tree picture is so ...victorious ...in a funny kind of way. Maybe you could frame it hand it somewhere. I don't know, the garage? bathroom? lifesize portrait for the backyard?

That tree looked pretty vicious. Paul has every right to be extremely cocky for his brave actions.

It's always bitter sweet when your kids get older. Happy Birthday Layla.
