quick catch-up

what can i say, september has come in like a lion around here. we've been very busy. who hasn't, really? life is good.

i accidentally just typed "life is goot" above. sometimes that seems more fitting. life IS goot.

ANYways, rather than bore you all with a too-detailed description of what fills our days to overflowing, i thought i'd post a couple of pics instead. you're welcome.

below: carson's first day of school.
"carson, go stand by the school so i can get your pic." first attempt is top left shot, aka "mountain-lion-man." awesome.
for the record: carson is really liking school. i would say he's loving it, but he misses his legos too much to LOVE it. his academic strength thus far is reading. his academic weakness? focusing. the kid is a class-a daydreamer.

below: layla and her bff, emily, are taking ballet. not only are these two girls pretty much twins by nature, but they're adorable to boot. TELL me there's anything cuter than a couple of 4-year-old ballerinas? nope. isn't.
below: odds & ends. whatever. for your viewing entertainment. oh, 'cept carson's is a for-real shot of putting his final touches on his f.h.e. lesson. battle between legos & toy soldiers. the legos (aka the nephites), despite being vastly outnumbered and fighting against captain darth vadar as well, rocked it.

yes, they're gray walls. i LOVE them. i have the darker gray in my living room, then the lighter gray in my dining room & kitchen. the horizontal stripes are kind of the segway into each "new" color. it's made an otherwise blah wall into something more interesting, i really like the overall effect.

AHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!!! THE MARATHON is this weekend! I was just thinking today... "last year at this time I was running Top of Utah." Makes me ache to do it again. I am so glad you are running it! It will be wonderful. I wish so bad I could shake a pom pom or cow bell for you. My favorite part was about mile 25 (I think). The downhill from Providence to Logan and then the turn onto Main Street. It was magical. I've got to do it again, someday. I can't wait to hear how your day goes!!!

Thanks for stopping by. We miss your cute family!
