...and...we're back.

we hit a sort of snag, the "pause" button of life if you will, with a sick kiddo for the past few days, but we're back now. layla acquired a mysteriously high fever that wouldn't abate for 4-5 days(except for small moments due, i can only guess, to the glorious acetaminophen/ibuprofen doping strategy). but all's well that ends well, and that fever has gone the way of all evil germs.

our kitchen is nearing completion. as soon as the batteries to my camera are fully charged, i'll post a few "halfway point" pics to prove it. way to go, paul! he's mr. handyman usa these days. it makes me quite proud...and grateful, because whatever little "helpful" project i try to attempt that involves his power tools turns out drastically wrong, and he has to go back and fix it all.

we've canceled our extendo cable in high def because the jazz are out of the playoffs. anyone want to join my "ppbbbtht on kobe bryant" club? stupid MVP. i'm disappointed in the playoff lameness of boozer and harpring, too, but i'll give them one more year before i become a hater.

the garden is planted, right in time for a few days of rainstorminess. sweet timing, eh? never mind the fact that i pretty much ignored all planting guidelines for the seeds and tossed them in the ground haphazardly. we'll see what grows. hopefully fewer zucchini than last year. i swear we could've built a separate house out of the zucchini that grew from just 4 plants. sheesh.

carson's started this new thing where, instead of saying his "r"s (which he's never done, he always has done an "aye" sound), he now adds a hard "g" in front of the r. for example: "ham-bug-eh-guhs" (hamburgers...that's right, it's now like 5 syllables) "jello jigga-lig-uhs" (jigglers) "che-g-uhs" (chairs), etc. it's quite the language. my father-in-law was over for dinner a while back, and carson had just started doing that, and layla was making weird sounds instead of talking, and larry looks over and is like, "i feel like i'm in a foreign country!" what can i say. it's like touring europe at our house. culturally inspiring, too. yep.

the end.

gald you're back and that the kiddos are doing better! I can't wait to see the kitchen, I'm sure its fantastic! Als, I love the little languages kids make up. I think it's actually really sad when they start saying words correctly, another sigh that they are growing up :(

The fever seems to be everywhere... the twins have had fevers for several days... no other symptoms, just a fever. Glad to hear that your little Layla is better;)

Glad to see your back in business. Time to get out the tape recorder for Carson and preserve his little language forever. Too priceless!
