the world through a 4-year-old's eyes

carson: i want to watch duh movie 'transformers.' can we get it next time?
paul: i don't think so. that movie is too scary.
carson: no, it's not. i won't be scared because in duh end duh good guys ALWAYS win!
me: the good guys win in star wars, too, but those movies kind of scared you.
carson: dat's because der were SCARY parts in star wars.
paul: there are scary parts in transformers, too.
carson: no, because duh good guys win, and dey're not even guys! dey're robots!

suggestions, anyone?

can you sers imagine? no, really. i've done some things in my life that i'm not proud of (all you of byu felt 39 days know the #1 item to which i'm referring...shhhh), but that would rank up there very high. probably top 5.

I think Kathy's idea is brilliant. BRILLIANT.

p.s. I'm not sure if this is even still an issue BUT:
My boys have been begging to watch Transformers for months. We, of course, won't let them watch it. But we did find some of the oldschool 80's transformers cartoons and let them watch those. They also go to the Transformers website and watch some of the little mini-movies. But they might still be a little too "old" for Carson. not sure.

ALSO. When Sam (second child) was four I let him play at a friend's house in the ward. The mom put on the real Transformers for them to watch. WHA? and her son was three at the time! Although I came to pick him up about 15 minutes into the movie, I--to this day- do not understand how that was ok.

This concludes my novel of a comment.
