paul and i are back from hawaii. it was (no shocker here) glorious. full report forthcoming, once i can catch up on kid time, laundry, unpacking, and sleep.

you've got to feel really bad for people who live in paradise, right? i mean, to have to experience this kind of stuff every day. must be rough for them.

chicken or the egg

carson & layla have learned, and frequently use, the phrase, "last one _____ is a rotten egg!" it's a blessing and a curse -- a blessing because it motivates them to do whatever quickly, and a curse because the loser, 87% of the time, ends up bawling.

but the BEST part is their creative decision that the winner is a "cooked egg." makes winning worthwhile, with a covetable title like that.

carson: my bottom is big and yours is little.
layla: YEAH! MY bottom is soooo little. and yours is bid (big), tarsey.
[much laughter]
layla: and my TOP is waaaaaay bidder dan yours.
carson: yep. i have a little top and a big bottom.
layla: and i hab a bid top and a TI-NY BOT-TOM.
carson: there's purple in my bottom!
[much more laughter]
layla: [gleefully] der's purple in MY bottom, too!

We've been frequenting some serious parks around here over the past couple of months. Carson has reached the stage of life where he typically refuses any pushes on the swing, to show that he can pump himself. I've been waiting YEARS for this!! :)

Memorial Day hike up Card Canyon 2009. No washcloths, no problem. Also, please note that Lulu made the trip as well. Of course she did.
