history lesson

carson: mom, in the olden days, did the guys have steering wheels or handlebars on their snowmobiles?

me: um, i don't think they had snowmobiles in the olden days, but i think snowmobiles pretty much always use handlebars.

carson: oh. [pause] then how did they get anywhere in the winter? did they have to WALK in the olden days?

i find this funny because carson himself has never (to my knowledge) been on a snowmobile. yet, he thinks the idea of existing without one is absurd and primitive.

HA HA HA! i love that he thinks the world needs snowmobiles. he should live here, where all we use is dogsleds.

Wait a second ... wait just a dog-gone second ... next you'll be telling me that the pioneers didn't have those Slankets (Snuggle Blankets?) to keep warm with and change the channel to the TV at the same time.
