asks paul when he arrived home to find a candlelight & tablecloth dinner awaiting him.
carson: "it's our christmas feast, dad."
it was lovely (candlelight does that no matter where you are, don't you think?), with the kids making toasts ("clink & drink") of nice things about our family and drinking out of longstemmed goblets and all in all feeling very grownup and special.
what's the occasion? we're a family, that's what.
p.s. carson wants to have regular family feasts now. i feel all "aww" and warm fuzzy about that, until i realize...he just wants to drink soda out of a goblet.

Hahaha! Same reason my boys *love* family home evenings. Our super spiritual togetherness warm fuzzy feelings....also known as "treats."
(but really, we love family feasts, too! we'll have to do them for more "non" occasions.)
