Over the past few months, I've been working on some furniture redo projects. Not getting them done quickly, mind you, thanks to the ever-present sickness that pregnancy produces, but they have gotten done. Finally.
Below is a craigslist find--a great chair, awesome lines and sturdy, but with unfortunate upholstery. I changed it up to zebra. Paul declared it my "best reupholstery job yet." Bam.
Below are two other craigslist finds--Ikea chairs. I love the shape and the legs. I liked them in white, actually, but you can see by the footprinted cushions in the "before" shots why white linen would never work at our house. Ever.
These were the most intimidating chairs to redo, because they are virtually all sewing (as opposed to simply pull-and-staple). Not surprisingly, they sat for months untouched. (A Gold Star of Husbandry goes to Paul, who neither complained about having to step over them nor mocked my vows that I would get to them before Christmas). Then I finally bit the bullet one kid-free day and finished them off in this turquoise faux leather.
I wanted to do a non-neutral color, just for fun. They look more baby blue in these photos than they actually are. If I'm being honest with you all, the jury's still out on how much I actually like them. But they'll live here for a while regardless.

I didn't know you were pregnant! Now don't be foolish and decide to go natural or let the nurses force you go natural.
