We continued the annual tradition of finding our Christmas tree in the forest. It's always an adventure. ("Adventure" is code for: sometimes a lot of stuff goes wrong and/or it's not as magical a time as it might sound.)
We took a pre-hunt family photo, just because we never know what state our kids will be in by the end.
I must say, this was my favorite tree hunting year. The weather was perfect, the day was beautiful, the kids were adorable and excited. Carson was a fantastic help and explorer extraordinaire, Addie loved "exploring" in the snow (which was perfect -- not too deep to hinder, but deep enough to feel like you're really backwoods), Layla was as cute as could be building stuff in the snow.
And Violet was an absolute champ. This was her first time in the backpack, and she loved it. (Can't you tell by her expression?) I think she was just taking in the wonder of it all, because I didn't hear a sound out of her, except the occasional slurp of her binkie. I can't blame her, it was so peaceful and beautiful.
She "told" me lots when I took her out of the pack, though. Lots of her best sounds, like "na na na" and "da da da" and gargles.
We found our tree and Larry & Joyce's trees fairly quickly and easily.
Like I said, the perfect hunt.
