getting old, growing up

last week (or so), i was telling paul that i think it's a sign of growing up and/or maturity that i can't eat as many gummy candies at once as i used to.

this morning i noticed carson eating the made-with-whole-grain (yeah, right) brown pieces of his lucky charms on the same spoon WITH the marshmallows (as opposed to devouring all the mallows first then choking down the others so that mean ol' mom will refill the bowl).

yes, we're models of maturity and good nutrition around here. those tantrums and shelves stocked with preservative-packed goodies you think you've seen are just figments of your imagination.

what if I can eat MORE gummy candies than I used-to-could?

trina: it means your nonexistent thighs are screaming out for some nourishment. :)

haha! We have about 9 boxes of lucky charms and my thought was - it would be cheaper to just hand them each a bag of marshmallows since they only eat those out of the lucky charms anyway....but at least the "whole grain" pieces justify the sugary cereal for breakfast, snacks and the occasional dinner. :)

I might have thought the same about me, but every time I go to my mom's for Sunday dinner, the amount of pot roast and mashed potatoes I eat pale in comparison with the amount of gummi treats I devour.

Oh, well. I may just have to wait for wrinkles, because I don't think the gummi addiction is going to be any indication any time soon.

ali: oh, totally. i've often considered the marshmallow-and-milk breakfast idea, but it always makes me kind of gag, so i don't go for it.

marty: mmmmm, i forgot about your mom's yummy pot roast dinners. and the breadsticks. how many of those things did i eat while living there? rounding down, probably close to 3 million. delish.
