It's December 1st. I LOVE December!!
Our month started out with a bang, as the kids FINALLY got to open the first door on their lego advent calendar sent to them from Sweden from my parents. Which, by the way, they've been waiting for exactly 18 days to open. And if you think 18 days doesn't sound like a long time....hoo boy....

They were all in such happy, loving, cheerful spirits this morning, making our morning goings-on ridiculously entertaining. [Editor's note: One of my favorite things about having two girls is seeing their total personality differences. Addie is kind of a rockstar tomboy at age 2-1/2. At 4-2/3, Layla is a princess-in-training. Love both.]
And then Layla and her best friend in the universe Emily have been romping outside with Charlie for most of the afternoon. These two girls are the peasiest-peas in a pod. They're adorable and fun. And they LOVE the snow.
Does anyone else remember a super-special childhood friend? I do. Until about 2nd grade, mine was Cassandra. She lived with her gramma across the street from me. Her parents smoked and her gramma made jello jigglers for us in the summer and she had a million paper dolls. Then my family moved away, and the magic of the friendship was lost. But while it was, it was awesome. Anyway. I happen to think every child needs a super-friend who will always live in their hearts in golden-tinted memory. And Emily is Layla's.

They are adorable. I kind of want to be 4 again and play in the snow with a BFF...and then drink hot chocolate and play barbies...bills? What?
I notice that it is Emily petting Charlie, and Layla is waayy over there.
