i think i'm getting old.

last night, as paul and i were downstairs watching the jazz game together, i realized that i was getting old. the cause of the epiphany? the fact that we were happily sprawled out on our own separate couches.

i remember that, when paul and i were dating (and even after years of marriage), i couldn't understand how married couples of ANY age could stand to be apart, especially if they were both in the same room. i was convinced, utterly and sincerely, that that would never be the case with us.

welp, here we are. apparently 20-something is the new 70.

i think i'll go chill up some prune juice for the celebration of my enlightenment. feel free to join us; we'll be partying until bedtime (6:30) tonight. if you need me before then, i'll be taking advantage of "senior citizen thursday" and buying paul some brown plaid polyester pants for the occasion.

Don't despair. There are plenty of fun things you can do now that you are old. You can ski at Beaver Mountain for free. You can wave your cane at pesky neighborhoood kids from your lawn. Plus, you can write cranky letters to the editor to the Herald Journal. Why, getting old is just the beginning of a new age ... just a really old new age.

HAHAHAHAHA...yeah, I feel the same way sometimes! What gives? Perhaps we should go to a seminar together to learn how to rekindle the fire :)
