Smart family reunion was last weekend. It was a fun time on a beautiful day at a park in Montpelier, ID. The theme was something Luau-ish, so we all got leis. Layla particularly loved the toothpick umbrellas served in slush. Addie didn't stop with plastic lei adornment, though; she added dandelions to my hair. I had no idea they were so, ah, lovely (translation: "dead") until I saw this pic (below, right).
There was a little adjacent skate park thing next to the grassy area, and the cousins had a great time running up/sliding down the ramps. These cousins are not only related, but they're to-the-core buddies. Love watching them play together.
Paul likes to make weird faces when I take pics of us. He seems to think I won't use them if they're weird. Heh. Love you, my dear.
Activities included a kids' sack race, in which Carson took first in his heat. The competition was cut-throat (please read the sarcasm oozing out of your screen), so you can imagine our pride. Still, though, you would've thought that the plastic gold medal he (and all the other participants) got was the real 24-karat deal.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable reunion in which I ate too much delicious food and chatted with family.
And on the way home, we got a flat tire. Thanks to Larry (who was following behind us), Paul and I both know the ins and outs of changing a tire on our van. Saweet. Bring it on, flat-tire-in-the-middle-of-a-snowstorm-while-traveling-alone-with-three-kids-at-night. You don't scare me.*
*Total lie. Please oh please let the flat tire powers that be NOT call my bluff.
